A History of Leadership and Customer Satisfaction…
Below is a snapshot of our recent history.
Our History
Uniloy’s commitment to market leadership and customer satisfaction has not wavered since the late 1950s, when the company became the first supplier of blow molding equipment in the U.S.
As the Uniloy Division of Hoover Ball & Bearing, the company became the leader in the emerging blow molding industry by developing machinery and patenting an innovative “hollow-handle” plastic bottle design for the dairy packaging market. America’s pioneer of plastic milk bottles rapidly enhanced its blow molding systems to include patented solutions for trimming, handling and downstream equipment.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Uniloy penetrated additional markets for plastic containers and broadened its product line through a series of acquisitions.
In 1985, the company was purchased by Johnson Controls. By the end of the decade, the Plastics Machinery Division was a global organization providing blow molding machinery based on accumulator head and reciprocating screw intermittent extrusion, structural foam molding, injection blow molding, and vertical wheel and shuttle continuous extrusion.
In 1998, Uniloy became a member of the Milacron Plastics Technology Group. Uniloy had many successful years as part of the Milacron family of brands.
On July 3, 2019, Uniloy Inc. announced its independence from Milacron with the completion of the transaction with Milacron; Osgood Capital, LLC and Cyprium Investment Partners, LLC took ownership of the New Uniloy Inc. organization. The investment firms bought Uniloy from Milacron Holdings Corp., which had owned it for 21 years.
In March 2022, Uniloy Inc., acquired Century Die Company, located in Fremont Ohio, Founded in 1946, Century Die manufactures blow mold tooling for the plastics packaging industry, particularly bottles and containers for household goods, health, beauty, cleaning and automotive products.
Today, Uniloy continues to be a leader in the blow molding industry by being the only manufacturer to provide 4 blow molding technologies along with custom mold design services, associated tooling manufacturing, machine operator training, as well as a resin and PCR test center. Today’s manufacturer needs more than just machinery, they need productivity, innovation, and efficiency. For over SIX decades, that’s what Uniloy has delivered. From our development of the first commercial plastic dairy gallon containers and beyond to advanced neck-to-neck machines that double output from a single molding system. We remain at the forefront of innovation while building on our core values, which is providing solutions that create value for our customers and investors, while providing a safe and rewarding working environment for our people.
